Editor take
Runabout Brewing is the kind of brewery restaurant that earns a real meal slot instead of just being a place to drink. The room is casual and easygoing, but the food was strong enough that it did not feel like an afterthought.
Our visit was with a full family group, including kids and extended family, and the setup handled that well. It felt relaxed, social, and easy to talk in, which makes it more useful than a loud sports bar or a polished special-occasion restaurant.
The one real caveat is order accuracy. A pizza ordered without spicy peppers came out with them anyway. They comped the item, which was the right move, but it still created a bad moment for a kid at the table.
Why it works
Runabout Brewing is a casual brewery pick with better food than the category usually promises. On our fall 2025 visit with a large family group, the jumbo pretzel, oysters, OMG Burger, and wood-fired pizza all worked, with the pizza as the clear order-again item. Service was good overall, though a no-spicy-peppers request was missed on one pizza; the restaurant comped it, but the mistake still mattered with kids at the table. Use it for beer, groups, solo meals, casual date nights, and relaxed business dinners. It is good if you are already in the area, not something to force across town for a formal night out. Use Runabout Brewing for wood-fired pizza, group dinners, and casual beer nights. Skip it for formal dinners, quiet upscale nights, and pepper-sensitive orders without double-checking. Parking was ample, there was no wait on our visit, and the room worked for a large family group without feeling too loud. Value depends on whether a $$ meal and this specific caveat fit the day: The food and beer were strong, but one pizza request was missed; if spice matters, confirm the order clearly when it lands. This is an independent local editorial visit review. We disclose hosted, comped, or discounted meals when they apply.
What to order
Start with the wood-fired pizza
The pizza was the best item from our visit and the dish I would point people toward first. If spice is an issue for anyone at the table, confirm the toppings when it arrives.
Use the pretzel or oysters to share
The jumbo pretzel and oysters both fit the room well: casual, group-friendly, and easy to split while people settle in with drinks.
The OMG Burger worked too
The burger was worth ordering and fits the upscale bar-food lane. This is not fussy dining; it is brewery food done well.
When to go
Use Runabout Brewing when you want a relaxed lunch, dinner, or beer stop and do not need a reservation-dependent night. It worked well for a family group and should also work for casual date nights, solo meals, and low-pressure business meals.
Service and atmosphere
Service was generally good, and the restaurant handled the missed pizza request by comping it. The atmosphere is casual neighborhood tavern more than formal restaurant: comfortable, social, kid-friendly, and not too loud for conversation.
Price and value
Value felt strong at about $25 per person before tip. The food and beer quality made the price feel fair, especially for a casual group meal.
Choose Runabout Brewing for wood-fired pizza, beer, casual groups, family meals, solo meals, and relaxed business dinners.
Skip it if you need a formal dinner, a quiet upscale room, or a meal where special topping requests cannot risk being missed.
Bottom line: Runabout Brewing is a useful local brewery pick: good food, good beer, easy parking, and a relaxed room. The missed spicy-pepper request keeps the review honest, but it would not stop us from going back.
